"At the core this album is about being in an abusive relationship. And the freedom that comes from finally being set free. The anger, the sadness, the PTSD, recovering and rebuilding life and dealing with the hatred for oneself and the abuser. We wrote this album while I was in the midst of the aftermath of being freshly out of an abusive relationship. Nothing was forced, we sat in a room and wrote almost every song within a few weeks. They're fueled by so many emotions. It's a statement to prove myself. It's a statement of my anger. It's a statement of my sadness. It's fully me, my body, my flesh, my heart, my bones. This album is so authentically me and it's painful to listen to at times, but I couldn't be more proud. It doesn't represent the years of abuse. It represents the freedom I now have. The relationships I now have. The love I now have."
